I was born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, to Dutch parents. So I’m Dutch.
After working half a decade as a tropical hydrologist in Kenya, India and Zimbabwe, a decade in the corporate worlds of Accenture, eBay and Google, followed by a decade as Founder & CEO of my own technology company, I decided that the next decade, and more, is going to be about Art and Music.
Starting from scratch once again.
Why?
Because I love to create. And because I want to explore and develop different parts of myself, find new ways to express what I see, and give voice to ideas that I find important.
So I decided to put this at the front and centre of what I do, starting with painting and working with photography.
My visual work moves between hard-edge painting, photographic series and structured systems. I often work with repetition, accumulation, color and many small elements that together become one larger image or idea.
My works have been acquired by private collectors in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.
I am an Agricultural Engineer from Wageningen University, with a specialisation in Tropical Hydrology, and hold an MBA from New York University.
So far, I have lived in ten countries across five continents. I now call Milan, Italy home.
