Year: 2023
Dimensions: 90 × 170 cm
Materials: Acrylic, gesso, varnish and enhanced photographs printed on NOLITE

About the series
While photographing the 472 stations of the New York subway, I kept seeing American flags on train cars: scratched, faded, repaired, stained, half-erased.
They no longer felt like simple symbols. They looked like surfaces under pressure.
In The Star-Spangled Banner, those damaged flags are repeated, isolated and mounted onto fields of yellow, platinum grey and off-white. The result is part image, part object: a portrait of power, erosion, repetition and national unease.
Shipping
Free worldwide shipping included for rolled artworks. Shipped from Milan, Italy. Stretched, flat and crated shipping is available by request and quoted separately.
