Connecting Dots
Like there are endless ways to connect two dots, there are many different ways we connect as humans. Sometimes more linear, sometimes harmonious, sometimes truly electrifying.
I was interested to see how this would play out visually, so I created a series of 15 paintings, each using a different way to connect the dots, each representing a different type of connection.
I chose to work with 5 shades of the color Naples yellow, one of the oldest synthetic pigments used in paintings during the period 1700-1850, because I love the way it interacts with charcoal: messy but beautiful, like life itself.
