Color Drops
For this series I went back to using my color palette inspired by the Paris Metro.
Connecting Dots
There are many ways to connect dots. I was interested to see how this would play out visually, so I created a series of 15 paintings, with each painting showing a different way.
Chasing Shadows
My paint supply store had run out of my white gesso. Rather than stocking up from Amazon, I decided to try something new: black gesso.
Line Paintings
To take a line for a walk. I followed the exercise that Paul Klee would have his students at Bauhaus do first.
Soft Edges
Ready to go without rulers and masking tape, for this series I used just charcoal and paint.
Family Portraits
It was time to update Bart van der Leck’s abstraction ‘Family’ from 1917 with our progress on what it means to be a family today.
Color Blocks
After listening to Jeff Koons in his Masterclass, I wanted to understand colors better.
Hard Edges
Here is my first series of paintings ‘Hard Edges’, inspired by the eponymous painting technique that emerged in California in the 1950’s.
Subway Maps
Subways really do tell the stories of the cities that they serve. To show this, I made alternative maps of the subways of Milano, Berlin, München and Paris.
I Tram Storici di Milano
Since I first came to Milan, I've been taken by the beauty of its historic trams. As a tribute, I photographed each one of them in its natural habitat.
