I made 16 paintings of 225 color blocks each, to better understand what color does to me.
I had always worked with a deliberately minimal palette. That restraint was important to me. But I wanted to explore color more directly, to understand its power, not by theory, but by working through it block by block.
So I created a fixed grid and repeated it across 16 paintings. Each work contains 225 individual color blocks. The rules stay the same, but every painting behaves differently.
Some are quiet and balanced. They calm me. Others are louder, denser or more unstable. They give me energy.
That is what I wanted to explore: how color creates temperature, movement and emotional pressure.
