Purple Haze is a unique painting from the Color Blocks series, composed of 225 individual color blocks painted in six shades of purple.
The work uses a fixed grid, but the color gives the structure a strong visual charge. Violet, magenta, lavender and deep purple tones move across the surface, creating a rhythm that feels both controlled and unstable.
Compared with the quieter works in the series, Purple Haze has a more electric presence. The painting explores how repetition can hold intensity without flattening it — how a strict structure can contain color, movement and emotional pressure.

About the series
Color Blocks began as a self-imposed color system: 16 paintings, 225 blocks each, 3,600 individual decisions about rhythm, balance, contrast and control.
I had always worked with a deliberately minimal palette. With Color Blocks, I wanted to keep that same sense of discipline, but turn my attention fully to color — to explore its power through repetition, contrast and accumulation.
Each painting follows the same fixed grid. The structure stays constant, but the color changes everything.
